| Greeting in the Bible. |
For completeness, it may be worth noting that the same greeting of “Peace” is the one mentioned in the Bible.
For example, in 1st Samuel, 25: 6, Prophet David tells his emissaries to Nabal, “And thus you shall salute him:
| ‘Peace be to you, and peace be to your house, and peace be to all that you have’” | |
| “… Jesus came and stood among them and said, ‘Peace be with you’” | |
So the question arises - Who changed the greeting and when was it changed and why?
And how does Hadrat Ali’s help reach anyone?
It may be worth remembering that Hadrat Ali (r.a.) was martyred and he failed to help himself when attacked!
And he did not come to the rescue of his son and his retinue at Karbala where they were slaughtered in the most tragic circumstances – such that some Shias wail and mourn even to-day some 1400 years later!
And yet during crisis, the ismailis cry out to Hadrat Ali and not To Allah!
We are advised to recite: “Naad-e-Ali …”
| “Naad-e-Aliyyan mazharar’l aja’ib tajid-hu awnan la-ka fin-nawaib: kullu hammin wa ghammin sayanjali be wilayatika. Ya Ali Ya Ali Ya Ali.” |
| Translation |
| “Invoke Ali! Who is the Revealer of wonderful things and you surely shall find Him helping you in difficulties. All worries and sorrows shall be cleared away by His help. O Ali! O Ali! O Ali!” |
